Mr. A.F.M. Aminul Islam

Mr. A.F.M. Aminul Islam has been placed on deputation as the Secretary of Law Commission on May 20, 2009. He is a Senior District and Sessions Judge. He was born at Aladatpu in the District of Narail on 04.11.1954. He passed the S.S.C. Examination  in 1969 and  the H.S.C. Examination in 1972 from the Jessore Board..

He obtained B.Jur(Hons.) and M.Jur  from the Department of Law of Rajshahi  University in 1976 and 1977 respectively securing 2nd class 1st in both the examinations.  He obtained sanad of an Advocate in 1978 from the Bar Council of Bangladesh and actively practised law in the Joint District Judge's Court at Narail upto 1983.

He participated   competitive B.C.S. Examination in 1983 and joined as a Munsif (now Assistant Judge) on 20.4.1983. He worked as Munsif and Senior Munsif in Satkhira, Gopalgonj, Faridpur,Bogra and Kurigram upto 1993. He was duly promoted as the Joint District Judge and worked as Joind District and Session Judge at Khulna. He was also duly promoted as the Additional District Judge and worked as Additional District and Session Judge and Additional Metropolitan Session Judge in Jessore,Dinajpur and Dhaka. He was promoted as a District and Session Judge on 13/1/2002 and acted as the Judge Nari-O-Sishu Nirjatan Daman Tribunal in Bagerhat , Judge Druta Bicher Tribunal in Rajshahi.and District and Session in Nilphamari..He is a life member of Narail District Public Library.

He was promoted as a District and Sessions Judge on 27.2.2000 and acted as the Divisional Special Judge at Chittagong and District and Sessions Judge at Rajbari.

 He actively took part in all the in service training programs during his professional career. He visited India. .
